The main space showcases a series of very important antique wood furniture from Ming and Qing Dynasty of China. They are historical treasures that demand a dignified and respectful display. The entire exhibition borrows one of the most important communal elements in Chinese Architecture which is the central courtyard. Chinese courtyard is not only a place for sharing but also a place for discussion and exchange.
Other elements of Chinese Architecture like flying eaves, moon gates and shadow walls were also adopted and reinterpreted in a contemporary and minimal way to serve as a backdrop to highlight the importance of the furniture on display.
