Gable makes references to the formal outline of the original salt-pan house, yet with bespoke adjustments tailored for each remaining artefact. Hence it is a design that is applicable to all ruins around the area but with customisable formal arrangements to suit individually.

This CLT-made Gable is bridging and translating the past into the present. Juxtaposing the forms and materials, it not only protects and slows down the ruin from decaying, but also generates an intimate dialogue between the bricks, wood, light and people in forming a collective future.
